At the Africa International Film Festival’s 12th edition, we were delighted to share essential knowledge with participants on accessing funding opportunities, positioning themselves and their brands strategically, building meaningful alliances, and using their unique stories as powerful selling tools.
The Push Funding Strategies Workshop was a comprehensive program designed to empower young filmmakers and creative entrepreneurs with crucial skills for career sustainability and growth. Through interactive discussions and practical exercises, participants gained invaluable insights across multiple areas of professional development.
Participants learned to manage their creative careers as businesses, developing essential financial management skills and understanding the economic fundamentals of the creative industry. The workshop equipped attendees with effective negotiation techniques and collaboration strategies, fundamentals of personal and project branding, grant writing and applications, resource mobilization techniques, and intricacies of crowdfunding campaign strategies. Participants learned to create compelling pitch decks that effectively communicate their vision, making them more competitive in funding applications and partnership discussions.
The workshop was designed for young filmmakers and creative entrepreneurs seeking to build sustainable, prosperous careers in the creative industry.
